Do racing seats get you more head room?

Do racings seats for our cars get us more head room? I'm 6'1 and sometimes I feel like a retard with the seat all the way up pressed against the windshield. Well maybe not that bad but another 1" or so of head room would be nice. Any recommendations with out goin over the top? I'd like something in black if possible. Thanks.

the only thing that will change room is how you mount the seats. you can do custom brackets to make the seats sit lower.

I have 2 sparcos up in my eclipse, and there are three different settings for height. I am a short guy, but my friend is like 6 foot and he fits fine. Why are you even worried about height get the setas they make your driving experiance so much better!! word of advise GET SPARCO!! great company~

Sat in a friend's 2g with racing seats. Felt like i had more space. May have been a mental thing because the seats aren't as bulky.

When I put my racing seats in, it seemed like that they were higher than stock. My head is closer to the roof. I have R1 seats and weaponR brackets. It might just be me though.

I've sat in both Sparco (Torino & Milano) and Recaros (SRD). Personally, I like the fit and finish of the Sparco seats better. Recaros are nice but I think they are a bit overrated.

Another thing to consider... The Recaros are built a little be more to the American market... where as the Sparcos are probably built more for the European market... meaning if drink lots of beer and eat nothing but burgers, you'll probably find that the Recaros are a better fit. The Sparcos are a bit more narrow cut, very supportive but some may find it too narrow in some parts.

I am glad someone brought this up. Being 6'-4'' things can get interesting. I know when to get my hair cut because it starts to rub on the headliner (VERY annoying)

I can only imagine the difficulty i'll have when I goto the track this spring.
