well maybe a better question is, will it help.

im running a 190 fuel pump and am about to install my safc II and get it tuned. im already getting the "Fuel air metering" CEL and want to make sure i have what i need. im still on the t-25 for now.

after research it seems all i need is the safc to fix my fuel trims (im tired of smelling gas LOL) but i want to make sure i am fixing a problem, not just covering it up.

my air intake and fuel mods are all hard piping, hks bov, JoeP MBC, 190 fuel pump, RNR o2 elim exhaust, and K&N kit. on stock MAF

The 190 shouldn't be the cause of the problem. If a boost leak test was not on the list after your hard pipe install, I would start from there.

In my opinion, a FPR could help if your compensation through your safc is significant, which causes you to be in a bad timing map..... The fpr will allow you to sqeeze more out of injectors, and allow you to completly move your fuel curve leaner or richer...... I don't know if it will give you any more power but would allow for a more reliable FPR, you will be able to monitor the FP and also adjust it if necessay!!!! do not go too low(<30 psi) or else you may have an atomization issue!!!!!!! thats my 2 bits :thumb: :dsm: :thumb:

well i guess that leaves it up to my tuner doesnt it. if he cant tune it out with the safc alone i might have to resort to an afpr. thanks man

This is only my opinion but I do not like installing an afc without the upgraded fuel injectors. Bigger injectors are one of the (if not the main) reason to buy an afc.

However to answer your question yes you need an afpr if you are tuning. It is good to regulate the flow with an afpr. I'm sure someone will post later with the specifics on this but basically you will outflow the stock fpr. Yeah you probably bought the 190lph instead of the 255lph because it supposedly would not outflow the stock fpr but when you hit boost it will.

As I was saying earlier, I wouldn't set up the afc just to do it again when you get the injectors that you will need. This is only a suggestion from somewho who hates doing things twice.

1. You do not know if you have fpr overrun, best way to find out is to install a $30 filter mount fuel gauge.

2. Even if you have fpr overrun, it can not be tuned out by a safc.

3. You have no business installing a safc until you upgrade your injectors.

4. Find out what this cel " fuel air metering " means.

5. Are you venting?

well i am kind of at a stand still, i didnt think it would be a good idea to run bigger injectors since i have stock turbo, what is safe?

i am not venting my bov,

i guess your right to get injectors and afpr before i install the safc

what size injectors are safe for my mods?

and what would you recommend as a good fuel pressure to start with?

No one is telling you to get bigger injectors, we're telling you not to install the safc. I'm guessing the reason for this thread is that you're running rich, right? If so, perform a boost leak test like I have suggested earlier.

alright ill perform the boost leak test, but will fixing a boost leak get rid of a cel? thats what im wanting to know. will it throw off the a/f that much? or does it only take it being thrown off a little to throw a light
