do i have a fuel problem??

i just bought a 2g 97 gsx and the guy i bought it from said it was fully built on 18lbs but idk about that.... it starts up fine and sounds strong but when your driving it in 2nd gear and hit about 5grand it cuts out and wont boost more then 5lbs... does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong?

Exaust leak, Bad o2 sensor, Boost leak or the wastegate is stuck open. I'd advise to do a boost leak test before anything else. If thats not it then o2 or exaust/ wastegate flapper. Is it tuned to 18psi? If so what is it tuned with? What type of fuel modifications does it have? Does it feel like its hitting a wall? Try turning the boost down and running it hard again.

ok thanks man i will keep you guys posted and thanks for the help

im not sure if its even tuned and it dont even have a boost control or a turbo timer so i dont think its as built as the guy said and im guna put pics up as soon as i get some good pics
