Do bent valves make noise?

Yes, you will hear a loud ticking, almost like a knocking sound. This happened to me just last week. To make a long story short I just bought a new engine yesterday. When it happened to me the car did run, until it just gave when I was getting off a ramp on the highway. It sucks! :thumbdown

It get's a little quieter once it's beaten its way thru the Piston.

OUCH! :(

I had 2 bend exhaust valves on the #4 cylinder and it had a loud tick and it sure as hell felt like it was only running on 3 cylinders. Not to mention very low compression. Have you tried that yet?

Well now the heads ported polished and is in the process of recieving 1mm stainless valves :thumb:

Is there a way to tell the difference between a bent valve hitting and Lifter tick??

Valve slapping is louder... Plus your car will run like ass with valves hitting. Or you can always just remember that with lifter tick it usually stops once the car gets warmed up. (sometimes)
