Dirty Exhaust/Muffler

Hi DSM'ers

So my Muffler/Exhaust is like pitch black dirty and I want to bring the chrome out in it.

Does anyone know a good/proper way to clean te exhaust/muffler?

I was reading this and was planning on doing this.

Coke and aluminum foil, water and steel wool, a rag n goo off.

Glass cleaner and steel wool. Then stainless steel polish. Just did it on mine at work.

I have used all of the above.And would like to add never dull.That stuff works awsome too.

Thanks for all the info everyone. I'll take a before and after picture when I start cleaning my exhaust. Working on changing the struts at the moment!

I used mothers mag and aluminum polish to clean mine. Worked real well and no scraches. IDK what the PO had caked on there, but it all came off with some elbow grease.

Same here, that's all I use. Apply it with a micro fiber towel and buff it off with a clean micro fiber towel.
