Are there any solid gains by changing the maf from a 3" to a 3.5"? Are there any seperate tuning issues that you come accross by swapping?

How much air are you flowing such that you think the 3" MAF is a restriction? Generally it'd be best to use a MAF that is the same diameter as the intercooler piping you are using in my opinion so that the airflow is disturbed as little as possible.

There is not a separate MAFT sold for the 3" MAF vs the 3.5", so I would assumed tuning shouldn't be any different. The only tuning issues with a MAF would be either temperature change or if you've chosen to "de-screen" it.

...The 3.5 is half a inch bigger

...No gain, because there are smaller restrictions other than the MAS, like the stock TB.

Are there any separate tuning issues that you come across by swapping?
...They are calibrated the same, so there's not tuning needed to switch between the two.

As I stated in the linked thread above. There is no 'conclusive' evedence in the DSMlink forums that the 3.5in does accuratly flow more air, if so it was very minor. They both accuratly flow into the 3700-4100hz range before the signal begins getting choppy and unmessurable.
