just wondering if anyone had an ebay cai then switched to an aem v1 or v2 or possibly k&n cai or something like that? wondering if its worth the extra 100$ for the extra 1/2 hp gain... i also learned you get what u pay for, im hoping this doesnt matter when it comes to cai's :thumb:

p.s. if this has already been answered in another thread just have like 4 or 5 people flame me and have a moderator come in and threaten to ban me LOL im jk or just link me to the thread if you would be so kind

I had weapon-r cai on my 92 n/t and then switched to ebay cai. Other than looks and name I didn't see any difference. I switched to K&N filter to ebay cai and that was it. Only thing I didn't like about ebay cai was the ridicilous shiping charges but it's still cheaper than brand name cai.

the only real difference is the filter. the ebay ones come with a k&n "style" filter. so you could just buy the ebay cai for the intake pipe and jsut buy your own nice filter. sometimes the ebay ones dont fit as nicely though just be prepared to work on it a little

thanks, ill probably get an ebay cai because i live on ebay OMG LOL and ill buy a filter from my work and i plan on buying a bypass valve to keep in the glovebox for those extra rainy days...LOL i know that sounds rediculous but w/e, hopefully i wont be hittnig any puddles that are deeper then the cai

Not much diff in the two if you get a cold air off ebay tho. Most of em I see are all Warm Air Intakes....

Shouldn't be much of a difference in hp gains against the AEM vs EBAY intake if there both cold. But I have heard nothing but good things about the V2 over the original AEM intake so I dunno about that part.

Cliffs: Should be about the same power gain.

also dont be too worried about having rain sucked up into your engine. as long as you are a little more careful when driving in the rain and avoid the major puddles, you will be fine.
