Did i lose pwer by doing this?

One quick question do i loose power if i have a hole in my valve cover gasket? see i took it out for a sec and i put it back on with the old gasket, i did a whole tune up and i thought i had just chaged the rubber gasket, but after putting it back on i realized that it wasnt my car that i changed it in it was my brothers! i was toasted out from working in the sun all day. so anyhow i drove to the gas station and on the way there i think to my self that for doing a tune up the car feels a little slower, but it didnt bother 2 much cause i was so tired, i get to the gas station and i flip out with the amount of smoke following me i open the hood and there is oil all over the heat shield. WTF . ok i am changing that gasket first thing tomorow but do i loose power with having a my valve cover gasket messed up? leaking?

Ok not to bump but isnt this a simple question? I am just retarded and wouldnt know the answer but out of 18 views one person must have an idea

ok, from what you've told us your valve cover gasket is f'ed and you're leaking/spraying oil all over the place.

can you explain why it matters if you lose power from this?

fix it before you need a new car.
