denso fuel pump question

my buddy gave me a fuel pump and said it was a 255 but i looked closely and it says Denso on it. how do i tell if it is an upgrade or a stock fuel pump seeing as it has nothing on the outside?

The 255lph is a Walbro pump not a Denso.

Your Denso pump should have a serial number that looks like this, 195130-xxxx.
Find this number and compare it to the pump listed towards the end of this article.

Hopefully he didn't give you a stock pump.

Thanks for your help. yeah its a stock fuel pump which luckily i didnt install it cause it would have been a waste of time. guess i have to pick up a 255 now.
