went to the track for the first time this weekend and ran a 14.03 @ 97.69. 60' was 1.847.
my car is awd with big 16g, 93 oct, 560 cc inj, 20lb boost, o2's around 0.9-0.92 all the way to redline, no knock, 3" exhaust, no cat, dump tube. car runs pig rich at idle and cruise but i figured my wot o2's were good.
got beat by a srt4 which ran a 13.53.
why is my car so damn slow for my mods?

98 mph should get you into the 13's, with a little more driving practice it will.

Are you still on the SMIC? If so, try more like 18 psi.

Do you have a datalogger? A SAFC or MAFT?

Also, have you pressure tested for boost leaks?

98 mph really isn't terrible for a 16g on pump on a SMIC...

i have a pocketlogger. And i have an upgraded side mount ic. boost is good, no leaks last time i checked.
i know my driving could improve, it was my first time. but i still expected the car to be faster.
my computer has a keydiver chip installed, but i think i'll be getting an safc soon. i didn't think it would matter at wot due to my o2's being ~.9.

Was the car getting any knock? You have a logger...

If it was knocking, then you need to fix it. If it was not knocking, you need to find out how conservative you are and possibly fix it.

Turn the boost down a little bit and tune, and then start turning it back up.

Have you pressure tested for boost leaks? You could have one, causing you to be too rich, and go slow.

There are really only a couple MPH to be gained...

i was thinking afc too, then i could lean things out a bit.
now i also need a new boost controller, mine was stolen last night. thieves suck.
more money to spend on my car.

How would the chip make it run badly? It's no worse than stock...

Im just saying that it's running slow because of the chip and it's not a fine tune. It's prolly dumping alot of fuel (or not enough) in the car. I bet if he gets an AFC and tunes it up a bit the car will feel a whole lot different.

Fuel pump? AFPR? If you really are running that rich (255 pump and stock FPR) you could see a big improvement by getting that fuel pressure under control.

yeah thats for sure i was running high 13s and 14 flats with a t-25 then i put in a small 16g a while back along with a fuel pump and ran constant 14.6-14.7s with the 16g... Got a Aeromotive AFPR and now im mid 13s at 15-16 psi :p

Overunning the stock FPR (big pump) doesn't effect how much power you will make at full throttle.
