i am trying to find out if i should use tunerstein on my laptop to log or should i buy a palm and get pocketlogger's software? if it all does the same then im going to do it on the cheap.

the goal is not to waste moneybut i eventually plan to buy a dsmlink tuner/logger, i just need to get a decent tune on all of the stuff i bought over the past month.

Well i can't speak for tunerstien but i do have both MMCD and the Pocketlogger software. From my experience Pocketlogger is a lot better. It's not that it can do more things though some of the updates recently are quite nice. Like log your wideband o2 and soon log your boost. It's more of an ease of reading and use while driving. MMCD only shows you the current value of whatever your looking at and it can be a little difficult to read because the type is so small. Pocketlogger on the other hand can show up to 4 different values in big number mode where each takes up a quarter of your palm screen. Also in this mode it shows the low and high values right under the current so you know that you hit 7 counts of knock even if you didn't notice it when it happened. My personal preference is pocketlogger. But like i said i never tried tunerstien.

I'm using a Palm m505 with MMCD software and so far I like it a lot. I've never tried pocketlogger but I'd like to. The font is pretty small on MMCD but its readable. I try to save a buck or 2 whenever I can so thank god someone made this software.

They'll all show you the important stuff, so if you're trying to save a buck, or even if you're not, Tunerstein or MMCD is fine. I'd use a cheap Palm and MMCD. Try MMCD. If you don't like it for some reason, you can always buy Pocketlogger later.

i first used a palmIIIc and tunerstein and SAFCII, then went to a Palm M505 and pocketlogger and SAFCII, then went to a Dell Inspiron 600m and DSMlink.

tunerstein is alright, pocketlogger is better but its still a palm. i love dsmlink and wouldnt trade it for nothing.
