First off sorry for the "noob" question...but I was wondering what the differences were between these two "tuning-mods". My current mods are as follows:
Ported EVOIII turbo w/34mm flapper **not installed yet, 1.75" compressor outlet **not installed yet, mitsu metal head gasket, arp head studs, 92 Tranny, open K&N, 2.5" inch from turbo to 2.5" muffler, no cats, MBC, Walbro 255lph with re-wire **not installed yet, Straight Line Spec UICP/elbow, car lightened pre-stage 1, 88 Conquest FMIC **not installed yet, rest is stock for now

My goal is 12's. I am sure I will need to tune the car with something but am looking for something that will work...nothing too fancy. It seems like the data logger is cheaper but will it give me the same support as the safc? I may be ordering injectors and either the data logger or safc this week. Basically, I was wondering what my next two mods should be. Thanks for the help.

They are 2 different animals . I recommend both.

You can get loggers for cheap on E-bay, but I felt it was more prudent to spend a little more to get the support that www.pocketlogger.com provides.

For a cheap palm, check out M100s on E-bay.

You can't adjust boost AT ALL with an AFC. In any case, don't you want to know if those "little adjustments" are going to blow your motor?

Think about it:
New motor=$1g or more
Logger= $169
 
best bet is just buy an safc and a datalogger... safc dont adjust boost... just the air/fuel portion of tuning.

The second type of datalogger is one that plugs into an existing system. Our PocketLOGGER product has the ability to read data right from the ECU and record it. The data is obtained from the sensors already installed in the car and that the ECU is already reading. All that needs to be done is to connect the PocketLOGGER cable to the ECU through an already existing connector.

what is the existing connector?
 
It's a white connector right next to your fusebox.

It's got four pins (I believe) in it. It's an OBD-I connector.
