Hi. This is my first post so please do bear with me. I also hope this is the right place to post this if not you can feel free to move or delete. I have a 1995 Eagle Talon TSI fwd (if that matters in the dash removal). I am trying to remove the dash because the previous owner hacked up the radio and entire engine and dash wiring while trying to install some gauges. I have read through a thread that was started awhile ago, as to how to remove the dash.

I am currently stuck on the portion of trying to remove the gauge cluster harness from the back. It is the 3 plugs that plug into the back of the cluster. The harness is wrapped around the side vent tube and I am unable to pull it out. I tried to disconnect the tabs that hold them into the back of the place they get snapped into. I have no real idea how to get it out otherwise.

The cluster harness is the only thing holding in my dash right now which is very puzzling. Cause if its supposed to come out with the dash then my dash is wired differently then all the others.

I hope someone else chimes in cause I really don't wanna have to cut my harness to get this out if I don't have to.

Iirc, that harness all of the dash ducting should come out with the dash. You should only need to disconnect the wiring connectors from behind the radio. Those 3 connectors behind the gauges have tabs on the back side. Then the yellow/white pieces come off before you pull the connectors back thru the dash.

I got the connectors out through their little holes but the harness it self is caught up on the side vent tube that goes through to the door.

The dash harness stays in the dash. Disconnect down the left and right sides, remove all 10mm bolts and Phillips screws. It's a million times easier to remove the dash if the steering wheel is off, and if it is an auto, pull the shifter all the way back.

from the end of the harness on the drivers side, there is 1 black plug on the front of the fuse panel. then a small white and a large white plug. That is all that needs to be unplugged. The next plug after that is for the dimmer rheostat. The harness is attached to the dash with a screw
