dash harness help!

Well i found some fried wires under my dashboard,I have traced them down but do not know what they are for.they are melted all the way into the harness but no other wires were damaged.Could someone let me know what this is?

the two wires that melted run into the harness and the two wires on the opposite end of the plug go to the white box with the button on it shown above.

right. that could also be the switch that is recommended you unplug anyway.

OP, can you start the car without pressing the clutch in?

I have never tried and im in the process of getting the car back togather.I have been building the car for past 10 months hasnt started since but it ran fine before besides a bad Cas.but alot has been changed on the car ive taken out the enginebay harness,relocated the battery etc.
 
its the clutch pedal position sensor. basically the neutral safety switch. (cant start car unless clutch pedal pushed down) along time ago when i did a auto to manual swap on a 95talon i once had, i had problems with that plug-in making my brake lights stay on... strange i know. i would fix the wires of course but more importantly i would investigate WHY they went bad in the first place. good luck
 
dang im going to trace the wires through the harness to find where the wires arent melted fix it then find out why it shorted.its like mitshibusi factory just pluged the harness in then rolled it in a ball and shoved it into the cornor of the car.
