yesterday my dash lights kept shutting off every so often, and then today they just wont work all together. they wont even turn on. can somebody help me? i have a aftermarket boost gauge and oil pressure gauge and them lights wont turn on either. could the person who owned the car before me have messed something up when he installed the gauges?

probably i have the same problem and my tail lights arent working either check the fuses under the dash and there is a 15 amp fuse under the hood

fuses under the hood and under the dash are good. dimmer switch is on, but the previous owner installed all new dash buttons and aftermarket gauges. also he tryied to install fog lights but he had a major fail. he spliced into a set of wires behind the headlights. when i went to go put them back together i took a meter and touched the positive wire it said short. could this wire be connected to the running lights/ liscense plates lights?

Just because the dimmer switch is on, doesn't mean it isn't fried... Have you tested the inputs/outputs on the dimmer switch wires?

As for the fog lights you should be able to connect into the parking light circuit, just make sure you put a fuse inline to protect your factory wires in case the fog lights pull too much current for the factory setup. You might even use relays to trigger the fog lights instead of tapping them into the parking light circuit. With a relay you can pull +12V straight off the battery, and ensure you won't fry a factory circuit. (In case you're not too familiar with relays, You'll want to put Ground on pin 85, +12V switched power on pin 86 {you could use the parking light trigger for this}, +12V constant on pin 87, and your parking light positive lead on pin 30)

thats where the problem is. my parking lights arent working. the only lights that work are my headlights, hi beams, brake lights, turn signals. all the other lights just wont work anymore. i think the p.o. knocked some stuff lose but i have no idea. im taking the fog lights off completely. i just want my lights back. and like i said its shorted somewhere. i wanted to know if the dash and tail lights and parking lights could have been disconnected while installing the aftermarket gauges? they are located right beneith my stereo.
