im sure there is someone on here who has done this before, im trying to redo my interior (( i hate the stupid rinkles in the dash and door panels)), im just trying to make them shiny like you see in some of the show cars and stuff.... the plastic peices ive figured out, all you do is sand the rinkles out, paint, sand, paint sand, etc.... but the vinyl is the problem, i dont know whether you can sand it? put a thin layer of bondo over it or what... i was thinkin if you did the bondo that it would look good, but it seems like it would crack if anything touched it, it would suck to have to take it back out after all that work... but yeah anyone please let me know if they know how to do this... thanks

okay, fiberglass, but does anyone have the steps or any experience of how to do this process?? pics of anything would be greatly appreciated thanks

im in the process of fiberglassing a dual gauge pod on my a-pillar. im doing this for two reasons i got the cheap ass gauge pod free and i want it to look good. I also plan on doing the rest of the dash later on in the not so near future. :( im using bondo's fiberglass jelly or something like that just mix with hardner, apply it however you want it, and sand to perfection.

the dash is made ov vinyl for a reason, it is pourous <---(spelling??) so when it gets hot and cold it will flex and not crack. If you fiberglass over that you are taking a risk if it is a daily driver plus a fiberglass dash will blind you when the sun hits it. You can check out my gallery to see what it would look like without fiberglassing it. ps.. it may look like the dash is reflecting on the window but I can barely notice even in the brightest conditions.

On the vinyl peices you an use SEM dye or dupli-color vinyl dye. Check my gallery. Thats what i used on my dash and my door panels. Looks OE.

howd you do your door panel? i did mine almost exactly the same, but im trying to die it black instead of grey, and i was wodnering if you can take the bottom off and re attach it.... didnt see a way to make it work... but let me know if you have any ideas,,, thanks
ps ill post pics of my door panel

Yea, you can remove the bottom peice. It has plastic welds on the back that i cut off using a razor knife. I sanded, painted and then used an epoxy to glue it back onto the door panel.

The rear seats were factory grey leather when they started. I have a little step by step on this link here. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=173821 It tells how to do the vinyl dye.

My dash is all fiberglassed and it really isn't as bad as I thought it would be with reflection.

There are a few pics of the interior on my club member page located HERE
