I need help on this one. I have a 95 eclipse gst complete stock as far as i know. i have a misfire on cylinder one that only does it around 2500 rpm and hold it there for about 30 second and after it the car warms up. Just as long as it is cold or if i dont hold it at 2500 it wont do it. I have swapped the plug in cylinder 1 with cylinder 3 and the wire with 1 with 2. I also swapped the coil and the injector around and it keeps coming back with a p0301 code. The CEL does come on when it starts misfiring. i have checked the EGR and its passage and they are clear.

Has anyone else have this problem before or now how to fix it?

Is say start with basics.. boost leak check. Change the plugs and gap them to .28. And check your fuel injectors. They could be getting dirty if they are the stock ones. Also check the O2 sensor it could be bad.

When I bought the car it wouldnt start. We went to oreillys and the dude i bought it from bought some champion spark plug. I just went and bought some ngk spark plugs but i found out the mmy o2 sensor is bad. How do you do a boost leak check?

Check for a blown spark plug wire.... I had a random cylinder misfire of cyl 3 on my 97 GS-t car ran like crap and sounded like a subi changed all my plugs my coil spent a ton of money and over looked the fact that my spark plug wire looked like a snake that just ate LOL... that would be the best way to explain it

I had this with my MAF translator, it may apply.

The white wire going to the transistor pack. When I spliced the MAFT to it, it cut the wire and was barely holding on, at certain RPMs it would drop #1. let it idle and move/tug on the wire pack.

Happy hunting

Ok but if i swapped spark plug wire 1 and 2 around wouldnt it go to that cylinder instead of staying on cylinder 1.

if it was number one injector ud also be getting the fuel trim malfunction bank 1 code thrown.. i had a similar problem but i had the above code and the code ## throwing. id say check the coil if plugs and wires arent the problem.
