I've searched and there's no pics or real explanation, I don't want to pull my 1g mani in my 2g car to find out i have a scenario that's impossible to use this intake in so i want to ask from those who've done it..

what do i have to do exactly to what and by how much and after that does it fit decentlywith room for the accessories around it./??? pics would kick ass

thanks !

This was on my old 1G.

I had installed a cyclone intake manifold. I had to grind a knob on top the AC compressor and grind some material off the bottom of the manifold. I did a pre fit and wherever it was hitting, i just put the grinder to it until they no longer touch...LOL!

It's been a few years so I dont remember it all. I also dont have pics...sorry. I just know it was a kick ass mod to get low RPM grunt.

Good luck!

I ran a 6 bolt with the cyclone manifold using the 2g AC compressor and 2g bracket with no issues at all, totally bolt on.

Ditto. I have this same setup and had no clearance issues whatsoever. The only thing I had to do was relocate my coil pack.

there was more than one style A/C compressor for 2g cars. it seems some clear with not shaving. I had to clearance mine. not a big deal really. only took a few minutes. not a big enough mod for a "how to thread".

dont fear the mod. fantastic manifold in the right setup.

94awdcoupe - I want your 7-bolt Cyclone!!!!!

What needed to be shaved? The manifold, the a/c compressor, the a/c bracket? I want to use the cyclone intake for street manners and want a factory fit. If I have to make really big changes, I'd rather install a JMF SMIM, ya know. BTW, I will be using Link v2 nitrous controlls for activation. I just don't want to be in there half way and run into problems/waste my time. Thanks guys.

Did you mean that you didn't want to put a 6bolt head in the car? If that is the case and it is to be mated to a 2g head there will be a big step in the intake ports that needs to be addressed. I think 94awdcoupe used some sort of epoxy to fill in the runners similar to what motoman did on the motorcycles with jbweld in the intake ports.

To bring this back up.

95-96 Compressors hit the IM - Longer

97-99 Compressors dont. - Shorter

94AWD that';s some nice work with making the cyclone 7 bolt compatible. I"m also stoked to hear that owning a 2gb has paid off in one more way with the compressor being able to clear on the 97 and up cars :D

thanks for all the info i really apreciate it!

I can't wait to get my cyclone on,i just need to finish the port clean-up work i started a while back and bailed on LOL
