so is the floor the only part thats different? if i took a block of wood or something to set under the box to get rid of the step, would i be able to create an AWD box or are the body panels slightly different?

The problem withthe awd's is that when you put the sub higher you'd run into clearance issues with the floor when you went to open it, since you would have to space the sub out.

If you made the lower section flush with the "DOOR" it should physically fit but I think you'd loose a bit of airspace.

AHHHHHhhhh. Why is it so high and what holds it up? Can you show me the underside too?

As far as making a stealth box for it. I'm sure if you trimmed a little of the floor it would fit fine.

As a side note, I didn't realize there was a plastic partition part I was missing.

when your talking about spacing the sub out, are you referring to the sub sticking out instead of flush mounted like mine? i'm probly just reading it wrong and not understanding.

on a side note, for the AWD boxes, would somebody be willing to make a template out of like a soda box (or some type of thin cardboard) just for the bottom and the front where the sub goes? i'll pay for the postage if somebody would like to do this. that way i can have something to make a mold off of.

exactly.

you'd have to have it "protrude" out to fit a big magnet 10 or a decent 12 in there. since the sides slope in at the top.

Are you using the OEM stud forthe net holder to hold your box inplace thru the back? That is how I plan on holding mine in.

Since I have a non OEM floor (mine broke and I fabbed one up out of 1/4 MDF) I plan on doing mine like yours in the front but curved out to hold a bigger sub (I want a JBL P12dII). Ill just hinge the last 3 inches of it (front to rear cut) to clear the sub when opening the floor to get the spare out

alrighty i understand what your saying now. the stud i removed because i wasnt sure it would be long enough to use, so i have 3 2"x2" pieces of industrial strength velcro to hold it in place.

it would definitely need to be curved out some to fit something like a 12, i remeasured my airspace and it turned out to be closer to .77-.78 cu ft

well i think i'm going to get started on the FWD boxes today. PM me if your interested, i have no clue how many to make.

Hey, I'm from salina, you Pmed me earlier. If you need an AWD for your testing I'm not too far away. I can take some pictures if they would help too. Sometime in the future I might be interested in one.

Wow... that box looks sick. Let me know if you're interested in making them for the AWD's. I can't find them anywhere and im not skilled enough to make my own.

The floor is higher because the spare sits higher on the AWD's. it is flush with the top of the cross brace, and has plastic "trim"/ spacers on the edges of the trunk for additional support.

looks good a local does this as well.

JL audio made the stealth box to fit a 10 inch sub back in the day.

they discontinued it and i believe they cost near 4-500 dollars

i cant find any pictures but it was real clean and oem looking. they made one in tan and grey carpeting to match interiors.
