I work at a car dealer and someone jus traded in a 96 tsi awd. My dealer wont sell it on their lot. I have a chance to buy it for 700 bux out the door. This car has 210,000 miles, runs and drives great. My question is, Is it worth it? I know this year has crank walk issues, but I would be yanking the motor and dropping in a 6 bolt, have sheperd racing rebuild the trannny etc... I figured 700 bux for an awd rolling chassis wasnt bad. But I myself have never dealt with a whole swap/rebuild so I dont know if its worth it in the long run?

For 700 bucks it's worth it. Just make sure when you do the 6bolt swap you do everything with it. Pumps, hoses, ect.

what do you think the over all cost is gonna come out to be. I am thinking 6 bolt forged internals, buschr race head, 2600 clutch, and a tranny or rebuild from shep racing?? not to worried bout funds jus curious bout wat the swap would cost roughly

I'll buy it from you for more than 700 if your intrested. I need a AWD and don't care about the miles. I want it for a daily driver.

Thanks
Ben
