I was wondering if you guys think that cross drilled rotors are a good idea for everyday use, and some track use. i have herd about them cracking and eating pads really fast, and i just want to know if it is true. also i don't want to go big brake kit unless they fit under 16 inch wheels.

cracked... errr I mean drilled rotors are worthless. They are "pretty" so if you are buying them for show factor only, then ok- Everyone has to embrace their inner ricer sometimes. ;)

Don't waste your money- they don't give you anything, and if you like to do lots of hard braking, they will crack, and you'll get to replace them frequently.

I have had cross-drilled rotors on my car for over over 2 1/2 years and have had no problems whatsoever. I get tons of complements for them too.

having drilled rotors doesn't necessarily mean they are crap.

factors that lead people to deduce that are how a driver uses his/her brakes, quality of the rotor in general, if they were drilled in rotors that weren't supposed to be drilled anyway, etc.

also, saying that something has worked in your car for x minutes, hours, days, months, years doesn't mean it is a fact. when stated the way some do, it makes it sound as though people claim it as such.

all in all, a quality drilled and/or slotted rotor is good to go. Just dont buy ebay crossdrilled rotors or drill your own and expect it to do well. There is a reason McLaren, Ferarri, Lamborghinni, (do I need to keep going?) and others use them in specific applications.
