My 95 eagle talon recently threw the bearings out of its tensioner pulley and the idler pulley. It took some work but i got the crankshaft pulley bolt and pulley off and put it all back together. Only now to realize i bent the crankshaft pulley and it needs to be replaced. I have a new pulley only problem is now i can't seem to get the old pulley off. The center bolt was easy to get off but the pulley is on tight. I tried using a pulley puller leaving the center bolt in a couple turns but it doesn't seem to want to give. I already bent one pulley puller? I remember seeing something about a special puller for the talon eclipse??? Anyone have any good suggestions?

well heres what happened with me. the shop i took it too tried a pully puller that hooked on the outside of the pulley. then they came back and told me they couldnt get it off. so then me and my dad and my dads mechanic tried. when we got in there we could see little chunks of the outside of the pulley that had broken off. so we used a puller that went on the inside of the pulley... like the circle that the bolt goes into.. the outside of that one, and it came right off. if you are already using that... then i have no idea

yes you do need a special puller or a hefty one or else.check with autozone if they rent the "chrysler engine damper pulley puller" i know they have it in snap-on or matco and brands like that.don't know bout more economical brands that make this puller.you might as well buy an under drive pulley now.

Because our pulleys are pressed on, no keyway, the pulley is a pretty tight fit. We used a 3 ton puller to get mine off. But the secret was we used a heat gun to heat up the pulley, made things easier. You have to ease it off, and not all at once, else things will break... do a little at a time, heat it up, tighten more, etc...
