cracked 1g manifold...need advice asap

ok my car started having problems the other day and i noticed that i have a crack in my exhaust manifold and i was wondering if this could be the cause of my turbo not spooling as fast and not pulling like it did previously? second question is i know i have to replace the manifold and i heard the 2g exhaust manifold is better flowing so what do i need in order to put a 2g manifold on my 1g...i mean everything i need gasgets and everything...please help

yes it would lead to the loss of power and your laggy turbo. Yes 2g manifolds are better they arent prone to crack as easy. You could also get an EVO 3 manifold which have a higher nickle content and already a 7cm^2. You need a head to manifold gasket, and a turbo to manifold gasket. the turbo to manifold gasket can be either 6cm^2 if your turbo is not ported or 7cm^2 if your turbo is ported

The same would be true for an EVO III as well. I personally went with an EVO III. Buying new means you know that there are no cracks to start with. With a used manifold, who is to say that there are not cracks underneath that haven't come all of the way through yet? The EVO also requires less porting as well to gasket match.
