could my N/T ever be fast enough?

So here is the bottom line of what im trying to say

If you have the money and own an N/T..than dump it all in MODS and be proud of your work because you took the time and effort to build a fast car

If your not a rich boy (most people arent) and you want an affordable convenient way to get alot of power, than buy a GSX or a GST

You have to think of your long term goals, what your expecting to gain, how much your wllling to spend, this does not include "wait and see" kind of attitude or "ill turbo it later or ill do engine internals later"...you have to be absoluetely sure of what you want to do and see how much you have..because this is the same "wrong" attitude i had when i bought an RS and in the end it bit me in the butt.

well hey thankz 97ClipseDSM thats cool of you man..ya I hope to find a nice GSX looking at some right now hopefully I'll get one somtime next week..anyways I know I want to go fast and I know my could have alot of potential its just I am tired of working on it..just like you did..I am asking 5,250 for mine and I already have ppl looking at it because they know me..so I hope it will all work out..thankz for the opinions you guys
 
Hey ECLIPSE95 your welcome, just a question for you, how many miles do you have on your car. It would be best to run it as $6000 OBO. This way if any one is gonna try to cut the price down, theyll cut it down from $6000 and not $5,250. Within a week or two, you should be able to sell your RS. Just hang in there, be confident and be determined that this is what you want to do, and in the end, JOY will come towards you and you will find a Nice GSX and than your gonna say to yourself, "im so glad i got this GSX because it takes weight off my shoulders to spend all that money on my RS".
And when you do get your GSX, show them STI bastards whats up. Believe me, they will have no room to talk. And besides, who gives a crap what they think anyway. Than every mod you make to your GSX whenever you have money saved, you will feel soo comfortable in spending it because you will see gains going from 210HP-300Hp and not 140HP-170HP. Youll be running 13 seconds or less with a few mods and not 16 seconds.

hey thankz..ya I really wanna show up them STi ppl and there trash talking about DSMs...anyways I just hit the 148,000 mark on my car though so I don't think I should mark it up to 6k..I will just say that 5,250 was reduced from that number...but the engine runs strong because I blew the timing belt and had it all replaced last summer so there are no current problems except for the 3rd gear syncro which I was going to buy a tranny for 300 of ebay but I decided to sell it instead...anyways well I am going to head off to the broker today and see what he can find for me..later..and thankz again 97ClipseDSM
 
Keep your RS and get a 1g awd? That's what I did and I love both equally. The 1g is my bi*** slapper and the 2g is my bi*** getter and pimpmobile. :thumb:

No reason to sell the car unless it's really run down and should be let loose anyway, and you sound like you have enough saved to get a 1g that's somewhat modded, it's nice to just buy a 300 hp modded car and not have to worry about anything but general repairs and maintenance.

Sorry to hear they were dogging you. As a current suby owner, I can say with great confidenct that many other owners are complete dicks. I give you accolades for taking the unbeaten path. With lots of boost, you will have little trouble with them.
 
Your welcome ECLIPSE95, and Mystic511 do you even know what you are talking about. i dont think he wants to spend his Arm and leg on insurance that hell pay if he keeps his RS and buys a 1g...ID reccomend you buy a 2g Turbo AWD, itll have the looks and speed and itll have a 210 HP turbocharged Engine. But hey whatever is your taste you go ahead and do..but if i could have 2 cars they would be a 2g Turbo (which i already got) and a 1g AWD even though i might have to pay alot for insurance unless i put it in my mommy or daddys name.

Bought my Tsi AWD for $5500. And where in the world would you ever get the idea that a Talon is slower than an Eclipse? The cars are exactly the same except for cosmetics. Also most talons did not come with as many options as the Eclipse. For example, most GSXs have leather unless someone opted to not get leather. Tsi AWDs come standard with cloth and you had to opt for the leather. Other than that there is no speed difference between the two. :rolleyes:

What do you base this on? The path is beaten for a reason.... because it is a proven path. Bill Hahn is the only 420a DSM to be romotely fast and that is because his car is gutted, he uses slicks, he sprays mad amounts of nitrous into the car, and he has sick amounts of cash in the car. I have yet to see anyone but Bill post up a 11 second or even 12 second timeslip in a 420a DSM. Other Scooby owners are dicks prolly because you have an RS. That does not give them a right but thats prolly why.

If you have a 420a and you don't want to have to go through the mess of selling it then by all means mod it, but don't think that you are going to make low 12 second passes in it and have it streetable. Most the guys who have the low 13 second 420As are not there because of mad hp but rather because it looks like some of them can actually drive. Once you finally do make a lot of hp with the 420a your going to have to overcome the fact that you have a FWD.

Example Jason Smithey drives a GST that runs high 11s. He also makes around 600hp. 4G63s can support 400-450 on stock internals and the 420a requires a fully built motor to support that kind of hp. There is a guy with a 420a who makes that much but it is in a fully built Avenger (Armond) I believe is his name.

At this point it's really about how much you can afford to spend.

ya i got to agree with that. All of us N/T know you guys are faster then us, and we know how your engine is better, but u dont always have to rub our faces in it. its not that simple to sell your car and buy a GS-T or GSX. you cant just go to the local car dealer and tell them you would like to trade your car for a turbo one and be out of there in 15 minutes. and by dropping a stage II turbo and rebuilding the bottom(what im planing on doing eventually), its a pretty bad ass machine. there not hopeless civics that have no potential. and im by no means a rich boy, im saving my paychecks for this turbo, but i would rather keep my car and save up and make it fast. i would be more proud of a 420a pumping out 300 horses then i would a GS-T pumping out the same. and 300hp is not unrealistic.
 
I actually thought we were having a healthy debate (which means both sides have facts to point out) , until Jimmy boy and Joeshoaf made personal attacks.

If you were to go back and read all my posts, you would know I never made any offensive remarks to the 420a or their owners.

If you're talking about the replies I made to Joeshoaf, I was just correcting him and making him realize that comparing a 420a that is heavily modded to a completely stock 4G63T is pointless.
