i have bin working on this build on and off for 2 half years now and cant seem to figure some things out. i have completely build my engine manley rods, weisco pistons, bc springs an retainers, and crower 272's, along with arp head rod and main studs. i recently did a compression check after about 100 miles on the motor and only have 25 psi in cylinder number 4. i also came to find brown oily GAS in my catch can but my crankcase oil is clean. so my thought is its coming through the intake valve seals right out my valve cover vents into my can. i took the valve cover off and did a leak down test when my motor is at TDC my intake valves leak horriblely but wen i turn it just a little they seal but then my exhaust valves are open???? i have checked the timing multiple times and its good. im out of ideas here fellas.... :banghead::banghead: has anyone ever heard of crower cams making a bad set of cams that maybe my lobes on that cylinder aren't rite??? this is my only idea at this point:ohdamn: any help would be great thanks

Rotate the motor again to TDC. You need to be on the compression stroke.

ok ill try it again i thought i was on the compression stroke but maybe i was wrong

ok so i did another leak down test i setill couldnt get my cams to seal the valves all the way at TDC  so i took the cams out. i did find then i have a exhaust valve sealing issue so the heads gona come off here soon

Did you have head work done? If you have oversized valves and the machine shop cut the valve seats to have them sit in the head like the factory valves, the problem might be the length of the valve stem. I have a head that I made over 500 whp that had the same problem, I adjusted it with cam gears. When I blew the headgasket I had the valve stem cut properly. Hope this helps

i did some port work my self and i had new magnesium bronze guides put in. i never have the vavle seats cut they are still the original seats. so i think i have deffect in my camshafts im going to call crower on monday and see wats going on and ### they can do for me. if its the cams i hope they have enough desency to replace my cams my messed up valves and my head gasket because ive only spent over $500 in HG so far having my head off 5 times with this valve issue.
