First of all, check the bracket midway through that pipe. There should be an extened bracket, boxed, and it bolts at the bottom middle area of the block. If that came off, you would break this loose with ease, because there's no support. In fact, when we were installing my turbo, I forgot to bolt that in and the coolant hose broke in that same exact area.

Essientially, I can't tell if you broke the hose or if it broke loose of the seat. What I did was pull it out, and re-seat the big rubber grommet in the end of that, where the hose is closest to the water pump.

Once you wiggle that rubber grommet back into it's housing/seating , the tube will pop right into place, giving way for that bracket hole, and the mounting hole (aforementioned near the middle/bottom of block) allowing you to securely fasten it back in place properly using the correct size bolt.

If the tube broke altogether, I would just replace it. Couldn't cost too much. But my money is on it popping out of place, causing a leak. Mine did this in the middle of our mainstreet on the way to a car show. I couldn't see anything but steam... Ended up fixing it in the parking lot.

okay so i just checked what you told me and when i pull on the coolant hose it just comes out theres nothing holding it in which i would assume is that big rubber grommet that holds it that your speaking of it seems to go in as if its intact but theres just nothing to keep it snug and to seal the coolant in could it be possible that the rubber grommet that holds it in just wore out? oh and i checked that support you were refering to on the block its bolted so maybe the seal wore out? and cant hold the hose in anymore?

Okay, so you see #12? THAT is the rubber piece I am referring to. You cannot properly place/seal this without first loosening the #11 bolt, so the tube actualy has some free movement, and isn't mounted down. Once you loosen this, the tube should be proetty free moving. Pull it out, and push it in there as hard as you can. Keep an eye on the seal, you don't want to pinch it or leave part of it hanging out. It's tucked pretty deep in the block, but you'll know when you get it in place.

It's tricky if you do it alone. Because you need to apply firm/strong pressure on the rubber grommet side, to line up the bracket (boxed #11) for the bolt to actually thread in and secure...

I had a buddy push the tube in (haha, gave him the labor part) while I waited for the bracket hole, and bolt holes to line up, so I can fasten the bolt securley. Once this lined up, the rubber grommet was sealed, and once I tightened it, it wasn't going ANYWHERE.

Then for the hell of it I flushed my coolant.. :thumb:

EDIT : Now that I think about it, if this was loose enough or you drove on rough roads, the rubber piece very well could have fallen out... Although you'd have to be driving for a good amount of time.

thanks so much for the knowledge now i know why i love this site so much and why i have the site under my hoods for all to see but i hit a dip pretty hard that same day because it was dark and i wasnt paying attention so that could of been what did the job and since ive had the car for so long that would most likely be the problem ill keep posted what happens when i do it im excited to get my car running again!
