Converting 91 driveshaft to fit into 90 xfer case

The driveshaft in my 90 TSI is totally busted. I can get a driveshaft from a 91 but the # of splines is different (90 has 22 and 91 has 23). Could I just swap out the part on the driveshaft the fits into the xfer case (I think its called the yoke?). Basically Im trying to find out if it is possible to swap out the 22 spline shaft ONTO the 91 driveshaft so its compatible with my tranny. Any advice would be WELL appreciated!

To the best of my knowledge, the 90 driveshaft will go into a 91 and vice versa with no problems at all. The spline count only has to do with the output shaft on the tranny and input on the transfer case. I could be wrong but Ive never heard of any driveshaft differences.

So are all the driveshafts from years 90-94 are exactly the same? I swear I remember reading somewhere that the 90 driveshafts were different (different # of splines?).
