Connector broke off harness

When I was pulling my engine out earlier this year, a connector at the coolant elbow fell off the wiring harness and I'm just getting around to fixing it. What are your suggestions for fixing this? I tried sodering, but the wires broke off just too close to the base of the connector. Any special way of getting the connector apart more?

Honestly i think your better off going to your local junkyard and cutting the harness with a good amount of cable or you can always try melting the ends and soldering there and patching it up. The last part is just to get you by but i suggest going and getting a replacement at your local junkyard. Hope this helps

Yeah, when mine broke off right at the plug I just went to the junkyard and cut one off another car. Solder and heat shrink.
