computer problem? or just a ground?

ok this is the weirdest problem i have ever had when my 1992 eagle talon n/t with the 4g63 is idling and i shut my door hard or pop the hood the idel goes from 1000 rpm's to 500 rpm's
and the check engine light come on it only does this when it is getting viberations ie.. hitting a pot hole or shuting the door hard i am tottaly lost as to what is wrong so if you know let me know so i can fix this asap thanks

I had a problem like this with my 2g talon. It went as far as the motor actually stopping when I hit bumps and then would fire back up. It turned out to be a bad ground wire, I believe it was under the rear seat, possible fuel pump wire? Anyway it eventually fried the ecu. BUT that was a 420a talon.

so this sounds like a ground? its what i thought but would it be the fuel pump ground like you said? also its under the rear seats? how will i be able to tell if its that ground?

In my case it was that ground. It could be anywhere though. Maybe someone else will have more input.

I had a camaro with a broken engine mount that behaved similiar to this. Basically, because the engine was rocking back and forth and pulling the throtle every once in a while the opposite would happen to me, the car would take off like it had a mind of its own!! And with a big 350, that was not a good thing!


I dont know if this can happen with DSMs, but theres a story for ya.

yea my motor mounts are not messed up so it is not the throttal so im damn confused i am thinking about reading the error codes do any of you think it will tell me whats up? because it is throwing a cel when it does it but like i said it only does this when it viberates like slam door or a bump in the road so.................
