Compression on a 90 gsx

I have a 90 gsx compression reads 150,145,150,140 is that hi or low I know when I put a lil oil In the cylinders they jumped to 180 for compression

How much oil did you put in them? Stock 1g pistons should make 155-160 tops on a good engine.

I put alot of oil in the cylinders when I went to redo it with the oil

You should only put a couple squirts in each cly as your testing them.

Ya I didn't have a oil container so I just poured some in it guessing to much

It's not too bad. From what I've read fresh 7.8:1 comp pistons show 160 across the board, so your engine isn't in the best shape, but I and many others have had fast cars with 125-130psi. Just look to doing a rebuild sometime down the road.

Your car was fully warmed up before you tested it right?

No car was cold blew the head gasket it is smoking extreamly bad

the standard compression on a 1g is 164psi and you shouldnt have more than 14psi between cylinders. service limit is 121psi

IT is smoking because you poured oil down in the cylinders.
