Well, I finally got around to doing a compression test, kinda dissapointed because I need to start rebuilding, but I'm going to college in August so I don't know what I'm gonna be doing prrb pull the engine and sit it in my garage. Here are the numbers:

1st Test: 1 cylinder: 125; 2 cylinder: 145; 3 cylinder: 95; 4 cylinder: 60

2nd Test w/ battery charger: 130; 140; 110; 90

3rd Wet Test: 140; 120; 125; 150

So, if anyone has experience with this, what could be wrong?? Thanks!

I was going to say maybe a chipped valve having 90psi in 1 cylinder but bringing that up to 150 would lead to say that your rings are bad. :notgood:

Just opt for a stock simple rebuild. You could easily do it for about 1000 bucks.

yea, i'm planning on doing a leakdown test next when I have the time, I'm just debating though whether I went to go for a stock rebuild or performance parts? Is there any way to incorporate both stock and performacne that would make it still cheap?

maybe if you use forged rods, stock pistons and some cams and all the other goods from oem should keep your rebuild price resonable

At this point you should concentrate on pin pointing the problem first, it could be burnt valves, bent valves, piston, rings or something as simple as the head gasket. It's a little early to talk about rebuild but 1G rods with 2G pistons would be the best stock combination.
