Hi all,
Just did a compression test and a leakdown test on my 92 GSX and now I have a bit of a dilemma.
After a good Seafoaming my compression numbers are #1 170, #2 170, #3 150, #4 150. I also did a leakdown test which confirmed that each cylinder is leaking past the piston rings. Now, I am pulling the head and sending it out to be freshened up, while it's off, should I go in and hone and re-ring the cylinders with OEM rings? I'm going to be putting on some cams and a meth kit and plan to run 25psi. Will that just blow the old rings out sooner if I don't replace them now? Or should I just slap the new head on, don't worry about it and drive it till it blows?
Any thoughts you guys have on which direction I should take would be great. Thanks!
