Cold Start Issue

So it has been below 30 lately, and my car is having problems starting. So this only happens when I let the car sit for a pretty long time, more than say 4 or 5 hours in the cold weather. Basically the car will crank but will not turn over at all. It all started happening one day almost just randomly, and when it first happened I let it crank for a little longer than normal and it got going, and ran just fine. But today I left it out and no start no matter what, the car cranks and all of that but just will not turn over.

Your coolant temp. sensor is most likely bad. Hard starts that only occur when it is cold outside are usually cause bay this sensor going out. This is a link that will explain how to test it and some other tests that will help diagnose the problem if your coolant temp. sensor is functioning correctly.

So is there any way to start it or am i going to have to tow it home? I mean I do not want to wail on the starter and kill it, are there any other problems that might be happening?

Could a push start get it going, or would that just be useless?

If the starter turns the engine, then trying to push start it won't help. You'll just end up with your car stuck at the bottom of the driveway/hill. Check spark, temp sensor.
