Coil pack interchangability

Are all coil packs for the 1G 4G63 interchangeable, (with the exception of the TACHO Interface, which can be moved from coil pack to coil pack).
I couldn't find a straight answer.

All 91-94 coilpacks are compatible straight out of the box.

The 90 coilpack needs an item removed and a plug changed, IIRC, to work on a 91-94.

I just made the mistake of getting a 90 coilpack for my 91 :thumbdown. what do i need to remove and whats iirc? i can swap the plugs easy, but what else needs to be done?
