i've already asked for help on this but nothing worked and i have tried new things and haven't been able to fix it. The main problem is the code 12 i know that it is the air flow reading, when i put it on a scanner i get a signal for the temp and pressure so i know its not the maf, especially because i have gone through 3 already. I just took out my ecu to check the wiring for the safc because i did not do it myself, and according to diagrams i have found it checks out. I tried probing the wires to the 2g maf because the wiring diagram says that there should be a 5v reference to it, i only get a 5v reference from the power wire, and the one going to the pressure, i get no voltage to the airflow or temp wires, i don't know if that is supposed to happen or not, i checked with the car on and also with it running. My safc shows 0.0 for afl no matter what. I don't know what to check next or what could be causing this exact issue.

I am going to tell you try this, and let us know how it works for ya. I had a bad idle surge myself, but it seems to me you maybe running rich at times and the computer maybe trying to lean it out, but its leaning it out adding fuel, and its causing your idle surge. Highly doubtful, but dsms are tricky little cars at times. But try this, take ## biss screw out on your tb, and get some teflon tape, and tape the crap out of it. Make sure you use a decent amount of it, And then screw it back in, it should help with it. It maybe a leak causing you idle surge. Then adjust it where you want your idle.

I don't know if it ran well before the afc because i didn't put it in i bought the car with it. I am going to check the biss screw now, I am worried that it is the ecu, is there anyway that i could check it without just using another to see?

i just disconnected the afc and the code is gone and the car is idling well, what does that mean? do i need a new afc or is it just set bad?
