Hey guys, I’ve been trying to find a inexpensive 17x9 +35 off set wheel just to use for autocross. The tire I will be running is the Nitto NT01 in a 255/40r17. I’ve found a couple options, there's a company that sells OE replica's and the Cobra R wheel has the same bolt pattern and its a +36 off set, and there is the newer style cobra wheel that looks like the American racing torque thrust and it comes with a +33. Has anyone every had any luck running wheels like this? And would either of these options work with the tire I'm running? This set up is going on my 98 talon.
I appreciate the help,
Thank you

I've not run those wheels, but I have seen them on DSMs. My real question is why would you put a 255 street tire on an AWD for autocross? In ST, you are limited to 245s. In any R-comp class, Nittos are terrible. If your car is legal for STX, for example, I would get 245/40/17 Star-Specs or R-S3s, instead.

edit: oops, you're in Canada, eh? I have no idea what your rules are ... ignore me other than those wheels are fine, albeit a bit heavy, IIRC

The NT01 isnt a street tire, and Im currently running in SM. last year i was running the NT01 in a 225/45r17 and i thought the tires were awsome. I get a great deal on these tires so i cant justify running anything else, and they work well for me.

my biggest concern is what would i be better off running the +36 or the +33?
Thanks for the help

+36 because you can run a spacer to +33 if it became necessary - you can't unspace from 33 to 36 :)

NT01 are street in the sense they're DOT approved, but they're not very good tyres for the type, sorry. You can do much better in that class of tyre, as Jtoby pointed out. Pick up a recent copy of GrassRootsMotorsport for the street tyre test they did earlier this year. 2Gs are pigs, so most likely the Hankook RS-3 would be the best.
