CMI North vs South 5/30

My driving was a little rusty. I bogged the launch on all 3 runs I guess I'm still driving it like I had a 14b.

My best run was 11.804@ 128.45mph with a bogged 1.97 60ft time. The mph is nice, it shows the car is putting out some good power, but I just couldn't get off the line cleanly. The logs shows rpm dropping to 2800 at launch. My wastegate/boost control was only able to give me 28psi of boost, so there's definately room for more power. I'm at the point where every psi of boost adds 15hp, and now that the tune is solid I'm going to swap in a stiffer wastegate spring and crank it up!

So what happened to Ted? His car broke again or you meant he broke out and got eliminated?

Danny got on it in second in the city and gave me tunnel vision.

But when he did the same in Sac I could tell the car wasn't pulling nearly as hard, 90* temps don't help at all obviously.

Ted's car broke twice but I'll be at the next event he's at with more support (and pics!)

I'll have tons of pics up sometime this week so anyone who couldn't make it out doesn't feel left out.

Yup, Im ready for a clutch and colder racing temps!

Ted broke a rear axle on his first run i believe, then on his last run where he ran against me in bracket racining eliminations, he broke "something" on the line.

Yup i got the tunnel vision when we were back in the fog too! And i hadnt even added all the timing back in that i had to take out ... damn heat soak in hot weather!!!

Yeah, it was hot. There was a nice breeze at the track so it didn't feel that hot. I looked at the IAT on the way home and it stayed at 97* until Vacaville. My IAT sensor is in the uicp, so it tends to read the same as outside temps when I'm not boosting. My logs show IAT at 96-102 during the day.

BTW my results for the CMI event are that I broke out and got eliminated in the first round. I dialed an 11.9 and ran 11.8, I didn't care that much, I was just going for a good time and a clean run.

I definately had a good time! It was like a huge meet with racing, BBQ, girls in 'summer' outerwear :wink: , and lots of friends. I'll be there next time for sure!

Ya it was fun even though I broke a few things. I got good news though, my transfer case held up through all the abuse!

I just drained the transmission fluid and it came out all chunky and flakey. Now I just got to get in there to find out wtf happened.

It was nice meeting all ya'll. And yes, Ted's car broke....again.

Damn though Ted, I thought the dashboard was gonna fall into your lap when you were trying to get her up on the ramps. I'm definitely gonna be out there rooting for you again next time you're @ the track, that was a super fun day and all of you Wyldkardz guys are super nice and friendly.

Danny, did you try any pulls after you added the timing back or did you just park her for the day? Thanks a ton again for the meth stuff! Really looking forward to having that hooked up within the next few months, I gotta get the most out of this little 16g. What are your coolant temps like btw? Mine are around 195-205 during 3rd gear uphill pulls and I was wondering if I should be worried, especially with no front mount.

Thanks to everyone it was a great time! I just can't wait till we do it again. It was fun running my car for the first time. I am gonna go do a few Wednesday nights and get a lil more practice launching and bring my times down. Really not much I can do to make it faster without dumping alot of money, so I'll work on technique. Sonic Burger was really good! I gotta make a trip out there again. Anyways, thanks again!!

Ive got 2 incar video's as well. One of me racing Ted, sorry you dont ever see Ted because he broke his trans. And one of me racing the sti, you can see me bog the launch and miss 4th gear!!! I'll get those up tomorrow hopefully.

dude ted im sorry, but i accidentally deleted your vid!!! My g/f did the usual "im going to take 15 pictures of myself while im bored" and i was deleting them and not paying attention and your vid was caught up in the deleting action... It wasnt the best vid anyways, I think it was your run where you let off in 3rd because the axle broke, and then you couldnt see the time or mph at the end.
