Who's going? I plan to bring my Talon out to the race and see what it can do with the new mods and tuning. It should be respectable, but I haven't raced this year, so I may be a little rusty. I'm also hoping there's a good showing in the new AWD class so I don't have to race against honda's on slicks.

I was hanging around the shop at Full Function and their shop car was running great! It's putting down 750AWHP so far without nitrous. Sean took me out for a quick 3rd gear pull to get my opinion on it, and when the boost hit I had to hold on! Honest, I was strapped into a race seat with a harness, and when it spooled up I reached down and held onto the bottom of the seat because I thought I was going to flip over backwards! ROFL CMI is going to be it's first time out. It's going to be nuts! Even if my car wasn't running I'd go just to see what the FFtec car can do. Plus there's always plenty of fast cars out there to check out, and some great racing action.

Who's in?

Search first you noooob!!!!!

hahaha..

I have a dyno appt. on wed and ultimately that will spell out the fate of my car. If all goes well, i might try to race it. I'll have to play a little on the street first to see if the clutch holds, and if it does, i'd like to go. If the clutch is done, i'll have to pass, but i might be down to go and check out the racing anyways!

Oh wow, I didn't see that thread. I'll post up there.
Good luck with your car. I have a feeling you'll gain some nice power on the dyno, and your clutch won't like it!

Im in for sure. Dave, are you still on the 14B?

First off, Dave - it was a pleasure to meet you today, thanks for the chip and working with me on such short notice!

If Nico is still willing to give me a ride then I'll be going up to watch him, Ted, Danny (if he can make it out) and Dave (if he can make it out) race. I'll for sure be taking pictures!

By the way, I've talked to 2 local DSMers but if that falls through can anyone let me hitch a ride with them to CMI? :sosad:

Yuri, I might actually be going up to CMI "KEY WORD BEING MAYBE HEHE", but I'll let you know for sure tonight if I'm gonna make it out there. Gotta see what's gonna happen after my class today first.

anyone know what class to run in?

If i run should i be in AWD or street power? Im not sure the requirements for street power...

Is anyone planning on having a pit? Id like to chill around friendly faces while were waiting to race.

Dude get out of school already, everyone's been having summer, LOL. Quarter system FTL. Gimme a call after your class though. :thumb:

As for a pit I'd be hella down with that idea, I'd love to help people out if possible. :thumb:

what do you mean whats 2m? Sac CMI, north vs south, the whole reason for this thread...

Yeah ive got a fidanza, im getting rid of it in a week or two though, you want it?

:ohdamn::ohdamn::ohdamn::ohdamn::ohdamn::ohdamn:

I forgot it was friday, LOL.

Why are you getting rid of the fidanza? I ask because I just bought one and wanted someone's opinion on it.

I'ma go charge the camera, LOL.

hahaha, you made me think for a bit is it friday?? hhahaaa

Lots of reasons... sometimes they blow up, having all those screw holes has got to make them easier to crack, and its not a perfectly flat surface for the clutch disc to hold onto, replacing the surface is a bihatch, sometimes they can flex when you push the clutch, causing clutching issues.

Ive been fine with mine, it revs fast and has no problems, but now that im making more power im going to put in an act. Its still lighter than stock, probably a little more reliable, and it resurfaces easially. (my friends dad owns a machine shop so it wont cost me anything when its time to resurface)

Really making me feel good about my purchase Danny, :ohdamn:.

I'm only aiming for 350whp on this Evo 3 16g anyway; the flywheel's gonna be grabbing a Fidanza 4.3, and I'm not gonna be launching it unless I'm at the track, so I think I'll be fine. :thumb:

What clutch are you currently on? A 2100? Won't hold up to your launches anymore huh?

2600 with street disc, the fw worked fine for me, and it still does, i think its a peace of mind thing above all else. I just made 380 hp at fftec, and plan to push the car into the 400's sooner than later so id rather play safe.

What time are you guys leaving in the morn? I'd like to go out there tomorrow, but I don't think I'll run my car. This event is more for faster cars than street cars right?

All cars (imports I'd say) are welcome. There are many classes to compete in. They have something for cars from the single digitst all the way up to the 14.50+ and slower range.

If you have an auto, bracket racing is your thing!

CMI Spring Jam results

Look at some of their times, that might give you an idea of where you would be.

Wow! No one in the tens at Spring Jam CMI? Tomorow's going to be much different.:thumb:

So what time is everyone roll'n out then? Meeting anywhere? I'm here in the city.

LOL sums it up!

Na, it was pretty good. Not as hot as most summer time CMIs but it is the beginning of the heat. I shall asses the damages.

seems like everyone was running slower than they should!!!

I couldnt launch very well for some reason, and if i did launch ok, then i would miss a shift!

My best was my first run...
12.3 @ 117
1.895 60'
Lots of knock in that run, so i had to pull some timing from my dyno tune. From there the driving issues showed up, either bogged launches or mis shifts...
My best MPH was 119

On the drive home in the heat, i did several pulls as we got closer and closer to the city, and the car didnt feel "fast" again until i got back in the city, it was like day and night. I hate hot days, even though it wasnt that hot...

Next time i race my car it will be on a test and tune night, or wednesday night drags so i can get full timing!!! i dont care if i spin the tires a bit, i want the full power potential!!!

I'll post up some vids when i get a chance to upload em.

Ted, sorry you broke on that last run! I was really looking forward to running next to ya! I had my camera recording and waiting for you to come blow past me hahaha
