so i was out driving my car last night. all of a sudden the car gets really loud like theres a hole in my downpipe or something so i try to find somewhere to pull over because i know something isnt right. pull up to a red light and go to put it in first gear and the clutch pedal drops to the floor. end up having to push it into a parking lot about a mile away, yep that was the closest one. its dark out so i just leave the car and come back this morning. go to bleed the clutch and the slave cylinder is just hanging on by the brake line that connects to the tranny. what could of caused this? i have a act 2900, fidanza flywheel, 6bolt swap, 14b which i dont think it matters..... i may go take some pictures of what exactly happend tomorrow but from what i saw today i saw a green cylinder that popped out of that rubber sleeve.

car is a 95 gst. someone told me today that the clutch is too heavy duty and could of just blown up the stock slave cyl. but i doubt that. just wondering if this has happend to anyone before..

so i went this morning and took some pictures. the ear on the slave that bolts to the bell housing broke and it looks like the other bolt was missing as if it was never there. ams did my swap so im hoping it was there ..... heres the pics

before this happend i didnt drive the car much because its been snowing a lot..when i let the car sit for 3-4 days without starting it i would have to bleed the clutch everytime because the pedal would be on the floor. im guessing because one of the bolts on the slave was missing and it was a slow leak.

Give them a call right away. Thats BS. If they do the work, and its not done properly, then they must fix it.

yea im going to but its not going to do any good, i cant prove that it was there fault. ive had the runaround from them before. when i got the car back after they did the swap i had a real bad oil leak and they told me it was my valve cover so i bought a new one and put on new gaskets and still leaked oil. so i looked myself and saw right away my turbo was blown. dont think ams is a big fan of repairs as they are a performance shop.

would my 2900 have anything to do with this? if i replace it is it going to happen again? i plan on replacing the slave master and getting a ss clutch line while im at it.

Maintenance first? Those are pretty wimpy. Even with a 2100 clutch I blew out both the clutch master cylinder and the slave cylinder (actuator piston.) I could see AMS not fixing it because they would blame the lack of maintenance for the failure. I am not bashing on them or you. The SS line is good insurance and helps pedal feel. I would also take a look at/rebuild or replace the clutch master cylinder. If you don't it may come back to haunt you in the future. I've never seen a slave cylinder fail like that, just flat out break. Usually they just piss fluid on the ground from blowing the seals. Interesting. I'd have to say that AMS must have done a damn good attempt at installing/bleeding adjusting the clutch hydraulic system to have the cast iron body of the slave cylinder break before the seals. That is a monster clutch.

well i think i put about 400 miles on the car when i got it back from ams last august, then come to find out my turbo is blown. put about 150 miles on it after that and now this happend. ive had the car for 2 years, dumped about $10k into it and i think ive gotten about 600 miles out of it. :thumb::dsm::dsm::dsm:
