Clutch problems, throw out bearing???

Alright guys so about 4-6 thousand miles ago i put in a brand new act 2600 clutch kit. street disc and i used the supplied throw out bearing, then about a month ago my clutch started squeaking and eventually siezed up so i tore it all apart and my throw out bearing grenaded and scored all the fingers on my pressure plate. my cousin also had a act 2600 with a street disc that he recently upgraded from. It is maybe a year or two older then mine. so i used his pressure plate and my clutch disc. my disc had 4 springs and his had six. I then ordered a throw out bearing from MA performance and i told them all the info on my car so it should be the correct one. I also ordered a new pivot ball and replaced it. Then i put that all together and now the clutch fork sits way to the right in the hole that goes to the slave. So much so that the end of the fork is hitting the pressure plate. Idk what the problem could be. anybody have any ideas?

You don't have the pivot ball shimmed at all do you? With a new one there would be no need to and it would cause the fork to be far to the right like you have right now. Other than that, check the obvious... Make sure the pivot ball is in the fork all the way, make sure the TOB is attached to the fork correctly. I can't think of any problems that are actually in the clutch that could cause the fork to be positioned to the right. Well check that I guess and get back to us.

I did have it shimmed but not any more. Irk what is thr correct way to attach the throw out bearing¿

It slides over the input shaft and the "flaps" sit outside the clutch fork. The clip goes though the holes in the tob and then through the fork and the curved part sits around the tob.

ok so it is incorrect to have the clip on the back of the fork? when the tranny is mounted on the engine with no slave cylinder should you still be able to have some play in the fork? ### this one is stuck. i think it might be the clutch disc, im gunna give that a shot. i was also thinking possibly bent clutch fork but seems highly unlikely because of how beefy the fork is.

would over torquing the pressure plate have anything to do with this?

hey guys got this fixed....not to the extent that i would like but it will last me a few months till i get enough saved up for a new tranny .... again. o well, but anyways i swapped the new pivot ball with the old one, put in another shift fork i had around, and swapped the clutch disc. works now bt the fork still sits to the right.

I assumed you compared your fork to the picture at the bottom of this page?
