hey guys i am getting ready to drop in a new clutch with my brand new tranny and my rebuilt engine.i have been using act since i started racing but i have heard alot of bad things about some of the kits for the turbo, something about the springs coming out,i am wanting a stage three racing disk what does everyone else recommend that doesn't have the problems of the act,or is there a way to make sure the act doesn't do this?thanks guys :dsm:

While building up my 1991 GS-T I looked at a number of different clutch applications before opting for the Centerforce Dual Friction clutch and XACT flywheel. I was running an 18G + supporting mods when I first installed it. After breaking it in with multiple-shift daily driving for 600 miles, I turned up the boost and started testing the clutch. Pedal effort is very close to that of a stock clutch. Compared to an ACT 2600 it is quite a bit lighter. Clamping power is excellent. 3,000 miles later and a 50trim turbo upgrade and the clutch is still holding power fine. Both during street and track driving the clutch has never slipped. I found Centerforce to be an excellent unit for those who have higher horsepower daily drivers. For us here in traffic cities, its nice to have a unit that doesn't kill your left leg but can provide reliable grip under boost. To anybody looking for a clutch for their 200-400 horsepower DSM, I recommend the Centerforce Dual Friction and would just recommend breaking it in properly with low RPM, off boost driving for a good 500-700 miles to ensure the clutch will work well.
