so i was driving my talon the other day and out of nowhere i have lost the use of my clutch. i try shifting a couple times but nothing so i decided to pull over and i pushed the clutch again and everything seemed fine. i continued to drive trying to get back to work and then the same thing happened again and this time it didnt fix itself.
i have replace the clutch master, and the slave cyl and bled the line about 12 times and i had a good pedal but would still not go into gear. i was gonna drive it from my friends garage to my house which is like 7 mins away. i got to the street and out of nowhere the pedal goes straight to the floor with no resistance what so ever. im kinda stumped at the moment because it just went out with no noise or any signs of failing.

any questions, comments, or concerns fell free to ask. LOL

Try bleeding it again and see if there are any bubbles. If there are then you have a hole in the line somewhere or your hoses aren't tight. This could also be due to a spring popping out of the clutch disc or another issue with the disc itself coming apart.

well first i would grab the engagement fork and try to move it by hand, if it feel like anything is wrong like it came off the pivot ball or something. but i would agree with the other to say that some way or another you are getting air in the system make shure you have fluid in the canister and pump the peddle up a few times and see if you get your peddle back.

fluid level was fine the whole time bleeding it but when i was on the street and the pedal went to the floor we checked it and all the fluid was gone. we filled it back up and hasnt lost a drop. would the broken spring make it not drivable? i had a foxbody 2.3l turbo and the clutch completly blew apart but still drove fine other than not having a clutch. LOL

Check to see if it is an engagement issue. To see if it grabs, put it in 3rd and slowly let out the clutch. If it starts to die, the clutch is engaging properly. Do the same thing in 2nd. It sounds like when you start to drive it, your problem happens.

it wont go in any gear at all unless the engine is off. if i push the pedal in and turn the key it moves. its not disengaging at all. its still holding all the fluid but the pedal is soft as all hell. the slave cyl pushes the fork all the way but it isnt doin anything.

well the is definately a leak some where that you need to find and fix and then go from there. make sure that the master is adjusted correctly to, if you fix the leak/leaks and the master is adjusted right and it still does it you may have seized the clutch disk.

if the slave cylinder engages the clutch fork and pushes it in then obviously there is nothing wrong with the hydraulic system. has to be the clutch springs. but thats my $.02 in and that may be all its worth LOL

not exactly becuase of these clutch hydrolics being self adjusting it can trap air making it unable to achieve full disengagement.

op have you looked to see if the engagement fork is firmly in place.

well im just gonna pull the trans next weekend and im gonna see whats goin on in there. i called john shepherd and he said my tob might be bad or the disk is messed up. so i will find out soon

the throw out bearing is one of the reasons i said you should make shure your engagement fork is firmly in place if it feels sloppy or a lot more loose then it should. but the throw out bearing and the clutch disk doesn't exsplain the loss of fluid.

yeah i was fiddlin with it and the fork was a lil on the sloppy side so im just gonna pull the trans and have a look. thanks for the advice everybody. ill let ya know how it turns out
