The problem is when I push the clutch in the rpms drop from 1100 to 500 but it doesn't do it all the time. I sat in the parking lot and pushed in the clutch several times with everything normal but after a few minutes it started losing rpms as I pushed in the clutch. Once I noticed that when I pushed in the clutch the rpms stayed at 1000 but the vacuum went from 18 to 10. I also here what sounds like a bad throw out bearing. It is an oem throw out bearing on an ACT2600. I would normally think it is just the clutch going but when I noticed the vacuum dropping I got worried about the crankwalk. I rebuilt the engine and it was my first engine build. I may have made a mistake. It has about 3000 miles on the rebuild. Is there any way to diagnose the problem before I start part swapping?

Ok, so the vac drop was from the ecu learning to idle again but next week I'll be putting in a quatermaster twin disc clutch and an oem throw out bearing. If it doesn't stop the rpm drop at lest it will shift better:sneaky:

I got the same problem. Freshly built motor, new ACT 2600, XACT flywheel, new oem TOB, pivot ball, and fork. Let me know what you find.

I noticed that you have dsmlink also but your profile says you haven't installed it yet. Is that correct cause I am thinking my problem is cause by my tune. You may have the same settings on link as I do, right now all my air, fuel and timing sliders are zerod out.

one of our cars has an ACT clutch and is having an issue like yours. It's dies when the clutch gets depressed. Hmm....

Yeah this has been pissing me off for a while now. What do you suggest I check? Master or Slave cylinder? How do you check those? Could I be in need or an extension rod?

Thanks,

Tom

Ok, I had a shop take off the clutch for me and install the quatemaster twin disc. The old pressure plate and friction disc looked fine. The friction disc was worn but nothing too crazy. I didn't check the throw out bearing but I replaced it anyway. I have to get the 2g slave installed and bleed then see if it stops stalling.

I feel like I am trying to reengineer the wheel when installing this clutch. But I put in an oddessy battery in the car after the shop let mine die. When I was charging my old battery and using it I still had the stalling problem at idle. After installing the new bat the rpms didn't drop so quickly. I am going back to my act an see if the alternator is good and if the stalling problem is gone.
