Middletown,
when i start my car it will idel at 500rpm's and seems like it is missing, if i give it gas it will go up to 2k rpms and if it goes past that it will die, and sometimes it wont even stay running. also i noticed today after i shut it off there is a clicking noise (bout 6-8 clicks) coming from aound the tb, CEL is also on but dont wanna pay $50 for diagnosis if i dont have too, and cant drive to autozone b/c car is not driveable, anybody think they might know what it is? it also started recently to die when i started it up after the engine got warm but holding the gas in for a few seconds use to work, now it doesnt just seems to want to sputter

Sounds like the classic indication you need to have your ECU rebuilt.

indications outlined here:
http://www.tmo.com/howto/ecu1g/caps.htm

You can pull your ECU out pretty easily and take a look, open it up, if you can see damage from leaking capacitors I would say thats your problem.

The idle is usualy gets messed up because the leaking capacitors eat through the tracks connecting to the idle speed controller.

Anyway Dave Mertz at www.dsmlink.com rebuilds them at a pretty reasonable rate, so I'd send him an email. He got me my ECU back within a week.

i have this exact same problem now. word for word what 91clipse said. i believe it is your idle speed controller going bad. my car won't start now, i'm getting it looked at in a few days though.
