Cheapest place for Couplers, T bolt clamps???

Just looking for the cheapest place for couplings, and t bolt clamps for intercooler piping. Also what size do I need, it is all 2.5" piping. Do i need a little bigger couplers and clamps, or is 2.5" couplers made for 2.5" pipe. Any info is appericated. thanks

T-Bolts are kind of expensive, upwards of $5 a piece. But you get exactly what you pay for; a hose clamp that just refuses to let go.

Couplers are measured on the inside, i.e. what size pipe they are made to fit on. Unless your piping has abnormally thick walls 2.5" couplers should be fine (assuming the 2.5" figure is inside diameter).

I don't know if we're the cheapest, but we have Turbonetics T-bolts for $5.50/each in the size you need. For couplers, we don't have them listed, but if you tell me exactly what you need I can give a price

If I go to napa to pick these things up, what do I ask for? Do they actually have t bolt clamps, and silicone couplers. I searched a few other threads and they were talking about buying radiator hose or something. Thanks for the help. I haven't got the intercooler yet, it is being shipped. When it gets here I will know what I need. Thanks again

Napa has a catolog with pics of the clamps. If the person doesnt know what a T-bolt clamp is, show them (they are also refered to as "worm clamps").

ya - i was only talking about the t-bolts @ napa.. but you could also just get truck hose as well from there.

depends on your napa, mine swears they dont carry truck hose. I took them a section of hose that had been purcased from napa and still and the part # on it and they swear they dont carry it. :thumbdown

I've been trying to find hose (truck hose or silicone hose) here in L.A. for a couple weeks.. I'm amazed how impossible it is. You'd think hose wouldn't be a big deal. I've given up and am driving down to RRE to get what I need, about a 45 minute drive from here with traffic probably.

or you can find your local AF guy and get bleed air duct clamps orr a c-130from benchstock that are ####ing awesome....have a groove built into the clamp just for the beadlock..,..great stuff.

dont ask me though i woudlnt do it....

You can get t bolt clamps at napa for less than 4.00 each. And you can also use 4 ply radiator hose as couplers. I got some about a month ago and it work great. I got the 4 ply ones. They sell it by the foot. You can get 2, 3 or 4 ply like me

T bolt clamps are totally different than worm gear clamps. Worm gear clamps are the clamps with slots in them, and a screw you turn which rides on the slots, they come stock all over the car, rad hoses and stock intake piping.

A local hydroloc supply store has everything from straight 4ply silicone couplers to 90 degree and all sizes of t-bolt clamps.

I like RRE personally. They are always a good price and have heavy duty hose clamps. The past two times my b/f took his GTI in for service they stole the clamps
