Cheap airfilters off ebay?

Well i got told today that ebay airfilters suck big time and that they break down real fast. But what would you do save up your money or buy the cheap ebay airfilter right away. I mean i want to sav eup and ge tlike a 100 or 200 dollar airfilter but i think that kinda outrages. What would you guys do save money and get a good one or buy the cheap one off ebay?

Ya k&n's are like 40-60 bucks usually. Now if you talk about intake pipes, a pipe is a pipe, eBay will work fine.

When i got my car it had cheap ebay filter kit on it. It was a little dirty but no telling how long it was on there because the chrome was rust.

So i purchased another ebay one and its been on my car for over a year now still looks new.

Not sure about the filtration ability compared to higher dollar ones.

The filter element shouldn't cost you more than $50. I prefer Vibrant Performance for filters over K&N personally.

So buy or make a pipe and attach a quality filter i.e. K&N or Vibrant Performance. Otherwise, just wait until you have enough money. No sense in spending money twice as that defeats the purpose of saving up.

What's your budget? What are your goals? What's your favorite color?

Look on the supporting vendors' pages and see what they have. Check Summit Racing or Jegs. K&N is good. AEM is nice. Most of the big name brands are going to have very similar results.

Asking what the best brand of air filter is is sort of like asking what the best brand of beer is.

IMO a air filter is a air filter..its jst like cloths and alcohol, ppl jst buy the name of it but that's jst my 2cents but if u want 2 get into the whole system thing I'll still keep it light..I'm still running a ebay pipe and a autozone filter..it's jst 1 of those things I don't go all out for but yet still pull away from local enthusiast

You .02 is wrong. A cheap filter will not filter as well or as small of particles as a good quality filter. I have seen filters start to decintigrate after time.

Yeah your kind of right for a long run type of thing..but I swap mine out almost as much as I change my oil so I feel like I'm still getttn the same performance as a filter that you pay crazy money for

I would like to get a AEM intake pipeing and all. But there expensive and my friend bought a AEM intake kit for 75 bucks for his 03 eclipse gt and its bran new.

That'd be my recommendation as well. I have a cheap aluminum intake from eBay (had something similar before the car was turbocharged too), and a generic 3" K&N cone filter from Summit. It couldn't have cost me more than about $60.
