Fun times in Norther Michigan. I am heading out to a party in my town. Its around 8p.m. sat. night. I am crusing out on a main road cruisin at around 70(speed limit is 55) I then get stuck behind a very slow mini van. After fallowing them for about 2 miles at around 40mph, they go to make a left hand turn. At this point I am only about 400 yards from my friends hows who is throwing the party, so as soon as the van gets out of the way I drop gears and gun it. My plan was to get up to a fast speed, then just coast the rest of the way to his house. Starting in second I gun it catching some tire. I then go to third, get a baby chirp and keep going, as soon as I get into fourth and stomp the gas the car feels like it looses 100 hp. I look down and see the oil light looking strait at me. So I pull it over and shut down the engine. Right away a big cloud of smoke comes out from under the hood. I hop out and pop the hood. I can hear some hissing and smoke is everywhere. I then look under the car to see a large pool of oil sitting right under my car. A look down the road and see that my friends house is about 100 feet away. At this point I call him and procede to throw my cell phone at a nerby mail box(don't worry its ok)....to make the story short, we get the car up in the air, and there it is, the oil filter hanging on by maybe one or two threads, oil everywhere in the engine bay. I then start to think to myself....hmmm I just got my oil changed last week. So I call the place, they tow it in. The engine is not seased, but the turbo is gone :-( And they are having problems finding another brand new T25. They are droping the oil pan, and looking at the DOC in the next few days, please pray for me. Somthing as small as a darn oil filter may have just killed my 4g63. from not on I am changing my own d@mn oil!

There's nothing wrong with Fram filters. The shop just didn't put it on correctly.

i work at a quicklube. definitly a reason right here for me to make sure those filters are getting put on tight.
