hello, i have searched and searched, and cannot find anything about taking off the factory steering wheel. i was wondering what all had to be done to remove it. im wanting a aftermarket one, and i havent seen any adapter kits neither, the one on my truck i had to buy the adapter kit for, and was wondering what company is best for this, any info would help , thanks

FYI, unless you ghetto rig something you will not be able to keep your horn since the clockspring gets removed with the air bag. You can relocate it though, I am going to relocate mine to where the cigarette lighter used to be.

If you are going to do it, buy a steering wheel puller. I found it impossible to get the stock wheel off by hand.

Grant adapter kits for a 1g fit on a 2g
also momo sells 2g kits.
ya will also loose the cruise control buttons.

(my wheel came off easy with out a puller)

T/E/L use the same hub for all years.

If you need a puller, borrow one from AutoZone. It's not really a tool that needs to live in your box. It's mostly luck, but I've never had to use one. Oh, and -in their typical fashion- the new GMs have to have their own effing puller, they've designed the wheels so that standard pullers that we've all been using for the last seventy years don't fit.

You should be able to re-wire the horn. It ain't rocket surgery.
