CEL: P0115 please help!

Just got this check engine light today and I'm afraid to drive my car now...

P0115:
Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit

what is most likely wrong? could i pick up the part at the autoparts store and fix it this weekend by myself? Lemme know!

Engine coolant sensor is not expensive, you can do it in about 1/2 to 1 hour. you can drive the car untill you get the sensor..

is that what this means? The logger still gives a read out of 174 degrees or so... what would it do if the sensor was bad?

I just had this problem and never saw this solution, so I'll bump this for future searchers to find.

I also had the C/E light come on, and my logger told me it was the p0115 code. When I would start my car when it was cold, both fans would stay on nonstop. I ended up realizing that one of the two wires on the back of the sensor had pulled out. Check this if you are getting this code. I rewired the sensor and it worked like a charm. Careful though, my wires were very brittle.
