2G CEL Codes P0300, P0505 need some help

wadup guys

so my dsm has been down for a while now i had another thread up about thinking its one of my injectors going bad but that wasnt it. i finally pulled the codes for the cel and i had 2

the first is a p0300B and its random multiple misfire detected. i have always had this code being thrown since i bought the car so i didnt even think to check the codes and see what they are for. i know this isnt causing my problem. this is going to be fixed hopefully once i get an eprom ecu and dsm link and get a nice tune at road race engineering!

the second code is P0505-idle air control system. this is what i think is causing my problem of the cylinder going out and the car overheating and running like shit. I just need to know what it is that i need to change to fix this problem. is this a sensor or something i have to buy? or is it something i have to adjust? any help on that would be great

so what happend was one day i was driving and the cars temp started to raist to about 80 percent up and i quickly shut it off not wanting to damage anything or blowing the headgasket. i let it cool refilled with coolant or distilled water. drove again and it was running like shit and shaking and the temp gauge was going up again. ever since then it was parked in front of my house slowly trying to figure out what was wrong. its getting spark and fuel so i have no idea what would be causing this problem??

yah I am getting hot. I actually took the thermostat out to see if it would still overheat and it did so my thermostat is fine. My fans also turn on. Not sure about my timing tho I have to check it. What is the timing supposed to be set at! The reason why it's getting hot is because the motor only runs on 3 cylinders and because of that it gets hot. What I have to figure out is why the cylinder goes out. I know the wires are good the spark plug is brand new and the injector is working too. My guess is it's because of that one code the cel is throwing.

Timing is 5 degrees BTDC. Check to make sure if the cylinder that isn't firing is getting spark.

You said you had to put water in the car. If this is so then that means the car is leaking coolant somewhere, which would cause your overheating issue.
If you don't see a leak anywhere on the ground check your oil for a milky substance.

If you are getting too hot, you could be steaming. If anything, the next time it does it...see if you see any steam coming from any of the hoses.

Yes the cylinder that isn't firing is getting spark. The car isn't leaking coolant and there is no mixture of coolant and oil so don't worry about that it's just steaming and that's why I add the distilled water just to be safe. It's not alot just a little to top it off
